My name is Alejandro, originally from Venezuela, I have been in London since 1999. I am enjoying this great city, learning from every experience and indulging my passion for baking.
Before London, I’ve been here, there and almost everywhere: I grew up in Wisconsin, a bit like Huckleberry Finn, and went back to Caracas for my late teenage period. I worked with amazing pastry chefs, at some fantastic restaurants and bakeries, and finally as a Pastry Chef. During that time I met Gabriela Yánez-Franco, she is like Mata Hari of this new adventure/project, my personal strategy PA and good friend.
Here in London I’ve done lots and lots: after working in hotels, restaurants, pastry shops, bakeries, I am now working as the sole pastry Chef in a busy kitchen for a bank in the City. I work with interesting people, we share experiences and talk about results of funny recipes that we do, and change them to make them a little more creative.
I really hope you enjoy my blog, learn to create lovely and delicious things with my recipes, laugh and feel part of my day as a pastry chef who enjoys every minute of his life.
YEARS OF KNOWLEDGE
A long, long time ago, I can still remember how that music used to make me smile… Gabby, you were on top of me, your knees and palms right on my back, sounds painful, but actually it wasn’t, it was really good, innocent, healthy fun.
Such good memories, we grew and developed into what we are now, as individuals, personally and professionally. We are still in touch and telling each other such great stories of our adventures.
Here we go again, but this time we are building it together.
