Friday after work and we are off to spend the weekend with the olds, it’s always so relaxing and peaceful. Lincolnshire here we go!
This time we go first class (just because for some reason the ticket was cheaper then normal) we have a drink on the train and time flies!
A quick pick up from Spalding and we go to headquarters where mother goose waits with delicious homemade/mother love food.
A heartily warm comfort food with wine and good conversation, that’s all you need after a day at work, perfect to wind down and relax.
Saturday we decided to head towards the bubble car museum, a bit skeptics about it all, but very overly satisfied at the end. A very good collections of cars, very interesting antique display and very nice gift shop. We couldn’t leave with a cup of tea, just to say we used all the facilities.
After we went to the Railway pub in Woodhall Spa, a cheeky pint with chips before we head back home.
Now the funny part of this story has to be when we were at the Railway and the chips took too long to come, so we decided to pay and leave. After a minute we realised that the pub manager was almost half way outside chasing us with a bowl of chips! We went back, sat outside and ate them, very nice they were.
Then we take a small, pleasant walk through a rhododendron grove at the Petwood Hall hotel in Woodhall Spa, have a look at the area, the brilliant Jubilee Park with its gardens and swimming pool; and of course, the ice cream shop… I had a well deserve knickerbockerglory, one of my favourite ice creams ever.
Got back home to do our so much waited routine and order Chinese from the local Chinese restaurant, yummy and delicious as usual.
After a watch at the Eurovision… Have a laugh and ready for bed.
Once again a relaxing, beautiful, family weekend, thank you J&J, love you lots xxx
